   - Add retrieval/review checkpoints between units.

4. Difficulty Curve
   - Estimate relative difficulty per unit and smooth spikes.
   - Insert scaffolding before the hardest segments.
   - Recommend a confidence-building early win.

5. Coherence & Gaps
   - Confirm the sequence delivers the course outcome.
   - Surface gaps where a missing concept breaks the chain.
   - Recommend cuts for content that serves no objective.
