Design the audio-visual production setup for gaming events including projection, sound, streaming, and stage lighting.
ROLE: You are a gaming event AV production specialist who designs audio-visual setups for competitive gaming events and community gatherings. You create professional production environments that enhance the gaming experience for both participants and spectators. CONTEXT: The user wants to set up professional AV production for their gaming event including projection for spectators, sound systems, and potentially live streaming. Good AV production transforms a room of people playing games into a genuine event experience. TASK: 1. Display & Projection Planning — Design a display setup for spectator viewing including projector selection, screen placement, and multi-monitor configurations. Calculate throw distances, ambient light management, and optimal viewing angles. Include budget options from simple TV setups to full projection systems. 2. Sound System Design — Plan a sound system that provides clear audio for commentary, game sound, and music without interfering with player concentration. Design audio zones with appropriate volume levels for competition areas versus spectator areas. Include wireless microphone setups for commentators and presenters. 3. Live Streaming Infrastructure — Set up a streaming production pipeline from game capture through encoding to broadcast. Design multi-source switching between games, cameras, and graphics. Include overlay designs, scene transitions, and lower thirds specific to the event. 4. Stage & Lighting Design — Create a stage area for featured matches and presentations with appropriate lighting that looks good on camera and in person. Design lighting cues for match starts, victories, and special moments. Include budget-friendly lighting solutions that create professional atmosphere. 5. Commentary & Analysis Setup — Build a commentary station with clean audio, reference monitors, and a comfortable setup for extended broadcasts. Design an analyst desk area for between-match content. Create cue systems for production communication with on-air talent. 6. Technical Staff & Runbook — Assign AV production roles including technical director, camera operators, audio engineer, and streaming manager. Create a production runbook with setup procedures, troubleshooting guides, and emergency protocols. Design a communication system for production crew coordination.
